About VFAM

The Vietnam Foundation for the promotion of Applied Mathematics (VFAM) was established to advance training and develop highly qualified human resources in applied mathematics in Vietnam, contributing to the country's economic and technological development during the digital transformation for Industry 4.0.

Objectives

• Enable outstanding PhDs, students and researchers at domestic universities to devote their full time to research in applied and industrial mathematics in Vietnam.
• Help strengthen scientific research capacity and train highly qualified human resources for the nation's economic and technological development.
• Encourage applied-mathematics training institutions to build up their training and research capacity.
• Promote academic exchange and international collaboration between domestic universities and universities across the world and the region.

What is applied mathematics?

Applied mathematics is the branch of mathematics concerned with applying mathematical concepts, methods and techniques to real-world problems across areas such as science, engineering, economics, finance, medicine and information technology.
